The spot
The kite spot on the resort beach
High Surf & Kite School has its kite centre directly on the resort's beach, a few metres from the water and about 250 m from the main building. A coral reef shelters the lagoon, so you ride on flat water or small chop, knee- to waist-deep over a sandy, coral-free bottom, in onshore wind; the school counts more than 70% of days a year with over 4 Beaufort. Trained beach staff help you launch and land.
The centre was renovated in July 2022: it has a storage room for kites and boards guarded overnight, a compressor, a kite repair service, a fresh-water rinse area, showers and toilets, and free tea and water. It is open every day from 9:00 to 18:00, all year round, and is paid separately from the hotel.
Families
For families and non-kiters
Children have a supervised kids club and the Water Do aqua park with slides, and the Superior Family Suites, in the family building, have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with the twin room opening straight onto the aqua park and pools. There are 16 pools in all, two of them lagoon-style and seven heated in winter (Skyscanner and Booking.com listings).
Adults have a spa and a gym, tennis courts, beach volleyball and football, Zumba, billiards and archery, and diving and snorkelling from the beach; guests often mention a pier and a coral reef in Google reviews. Meals are all-inclusive at the D'White and Al Dente restaurants, with themed restaurants (Mexican, Italian, Asian, Egyptian, Mediterranean and seafood) and a rooftop Sky Bar. Evenings bring belly dance shows and daily parties.

The kite school on the beach
High Surf & Kite School teaches IKO courses to one or two students per instructor on the resort's lagoon, and rents Cabrinha and CrazyFly kites to riders at IKO level 3.
