Which course is right for you?
- Never flown a kite: the 6-hour semi-private Beginner course takes you to IKO level 2; Zero to Hero (12 hours plus practice with full gear) aims to make you independent.
- Had lessons, not yet riding upwind: the Intermediate course (IKO 2 to 3) covers water starts, riding upwind and first small jumps.
- Already riding: Going Pro (IKO 4) for jumps with grabs, power jibes and transitions.
- Rusty: a private Refresher (4 hours), or a 30-minute level check if you want to rent without a licence.
- Kiter who wants to foil: The Glider, a 4-hour private kitefoil course.
- Curious partner: wing foil starts on a SUP, from €110 for an hour.
The spot
Wind and conditions at the station
The station is on the Mövenpick's private beach, on a turquoise lagoon divided in two: the first sandbank has a sandy downwind area reserved for learners, and the upwind section is for free riders. Where you learn, the water is 0.6 to 1 m deep; experienced riders have a deep-water channel and a second lagoon further out, and the coral reef along the lagoon's edge keeps the water flat and free of chop.

Safety
Safety and equipment
Two rescue boats are on the water at all times. All instructors are IKO certified, and lessons include the harness, kite, bar, board, helmet, life jacket and, in winter, a wetsuit, with equipment insurance. KitePeople works with North Kiteboarding and Mystic and renews its rental gear every year, with kites from 5 to 15 m². To rent you need an IKO level 3 or VDWS level 4 card, or a €60 level check, and each rider rents their own gear.
