The water sports station of Robinson Club Soma Bay is run by the club itself, about 300 m from the rooms, on the sandy beach next to the Kempinski hotel. All its instructors are VDWS-certified, and it teaches windsurfing, catamaran sailing and wing foiling; club guests with a recognised licence rent windsurf and catamaran gear free of charge.
It does not teach kitesurfing. Robinson's free shuttle takes kiters to 7BFT KiteHouse, an independent IKO centre about 2.4 km from the club, where lessons, rental and storage are booked and paid directly. The station
What the station offers
Windsurfing is the core: about 70 boards on a sandy beach, rented free of charge to club guests who show a recognised windsurfing licence, free weekly taster sessions, and courses up to the international VDWS basic licence, plus refreshers and special courses such as water starts, harness riding and power gybes. Catamaran sailors get four TOPCAT K2s, free with a recognised catamaran certificate, three more for exclusive hire, and courses to the international VDWS catamaran licence.
Wing foiling is always charged, even for club guests: a weekly taster on the beach, foil board hire and private introductions. Wetsuits and life jackets can be rented. All courses need at least three participants, and prices are given on request at the station.

Kite
Kitesurfing: the shuttle to 7BFT KiteHouse
Kitesurfing is not taught at the station. Robinson sends its kiters to 7BFT KiteHouse, an independent centre listed by the IKO, about 2.4 km from the club: the shuttle is free, while kite courses, rental and storage are booked and paid at 7BFT. Robinson adds that kiting is possible only at selected spots, after a talk with its head of water sports.
At 7BFT a steady north wind blows side-offshore at the beach over flat water. The KiteHouse station opens from 8:30 to 18:30, and its water area from 8:30 to 17:00.

Robinson rates its sailing area at 4 to 6 Beaufort with small to medium waves, off a sandy beach. A surf camp film on Robinson's own events channel sums it up for windsurfers: constant wind, wind chop and long sandbanks for cruising.
