Which course is right for you?
- Never flown a kite: semi-private lessons with one other student of your level are the usual start. Planet Kitesurf Holidays suggests allowing at least 10 hours to get up and riding.
- Short on time or nervous: private lessons give you the instructor's full attention and the fastest progress.
- Children under 15: private lessons only, with a parent signing a responsibility form and staying at the hotel; under-14s get 30% off kite and wing lessons.
- Already riding: rental starts with a level check, and rental gear stays in the free-ride zone marked by flags.
- Torn between kite and wing: the combo lesson splits the time 50/50, from 1,069 MAD for 2 hours semi-private (pre-booked, low season).
The spot
Wind and conditions at the station
Lessons take place in front of the centre on Dragon beach. The main wind is north-easterly and side-shore: the centre gives 15 to 25 knots in winter and more than 30 knots in July and August, and mornings are usually lighter than afternoons. The lagoon is flat and shallow, choppier at high tide in strong wind; the riding area is huge at high tide and much smaller at low tide, when sharp shells appear on the sand.
From the centre, experienced riders can reach the Speed Spot (a tractor there and back with boat safety, 165 MAD), join the downwinder to the White Dune (about 3 hours of riding, 385 MAD) or take a car trip to the waves at Pointe d'Or (330 MAD). More about the season in our Dakhla kitesurf guide.
Safety
Safety and equipment
Helmets and impact vests are compulsory in lessons, and lessons are planned around the day's wind forecast. A rescue boat covers the water, beach assistants help you launch and land all day, and the centre lists waterproof intercoms for communication on the water. The rental fleet is Duotone's 2026 collection, checked every day, with ION accessories; the premium SLS and D-LAB ranges cost 15% and 20% more.
Optional rental insurance covers small damage only, never loss; without it, you leave a deposit of 2,750 MAD at reception (3,300 MAD for wing foil, where no insurance is offered). Repairs follow the centre's price grid, from 550 MAD for a line or leash to 3,300 MAD for a major kite repair.

Dakhla Attitude is the centre's home: reception and the Dragon Camp bungalows are about 150 m from it, the Windhunter rooms 500 m and the Speed Spot rooms 5 to 10 minutes on foot. PK25, about 1.7 km up the shore, has a sister sports centre with the same set-up, so its guests ride from their own beach.

Activities booked and paid at least 30 days before arrival cost 10% less. On the day, arrive at the centre's desk 15 minutes before your lesson. You can cancel up to 1 hour before, and unused lesson hours become a voucher valid for two years.
